Chocolate Chip Pie
3/4 cup flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cup nuts (pecans are best)
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
3 eggs,slightly beaten
1 12/ sticks butter, melted
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
2 unbaked pie shells (deep dish)
Preheat oven to 350. Melt butter. Mix sugar and flour; pour melted
butter into sugar and flour mixture and beat. Add eggs to mixture, make
sure that the butter mixture isn't too hot (you don't want to fry your
eggs). Stir in vanilla, nuts and chocolate chips. Pour mixture into both
pie shells. Bake at 350 for 30-45 minutes. Pies are done when a toothpick
stuck in the middle comes out clean. (The original recipe called for the
pies to be baked for 30 minutes, but it usually takes my oven longer.) If
you don't like a lot of chocolate chips, it works to add more pecans.
